John Huw Davies is a professional singer, conductor and teacher who has performed widely in the UK, Europe and the Southern Hemisphere. He has given recitals for the BBC, conducted the BBC Singers, teaches singing (at one time at Trinity College of Music and now at the University of Wales, Bangor) and gives regular courses for solo and choral singers. He is particularly interested in the development of the voice for solo and choral singing and directs Masterclasses at Canford International Summer school, Charterhouse Summer School, Berwang Summer School, Austria, and the North Wales Summer School of Music, which he founded in 1982. He also fulfils many conducting engagements throughout the year in the UK and Europe. His voice is well known to generations of children for his presentation of the schools programmes ‘Singing Together’ and ‘Music Workshop’ and to Radio 3 listeners for his ‘Choirs of the World’ series.
